So what is an event?
According to Google Dictionary, an event is:
- A thing that happens, esp. one of importance
- A planned public or social occasion
- Each of several particular contests making up a sports competition
- A single occurrence of a process, e.g., the ionization of one atom
Event planning is a hard profession, you have to calculate parameters so that everything will be functional within catering, cocktail servings, location and space, and over all the invited. Within the invitations, organizing the right people to be there gets complicated.
You need all the important people to be invited to assemble the topmost sector. You then, would also need to entertain the guests with good music and lots of glamour. A good tip, is to have other people help you out on the event, rather than doing it all alone.
If you don't have anyone eligible to help, contact different companies, or research fashion volunteers. Fashion schools, business schools, and sometimes even modeling and acting organizations, will allow announcing volunteer work needed with fashion forward senses.
Here, is me on far right and some school mates who helped volunteer for Jonathan Kayne's fashion show in Charlotte, NC last year. The event planner did a great job on finding the right volunteers. :)
Reason for event planning within a fashion collection is to schedule and recognize occasions, to sponsor and expose brands, and to acknowledge the hard work created within the designs in the time of year.
As a fashion follower, blogger, event planner, or even designer it is important to understand the reason and importance of event planning. If it wasn't for event planning, then there would be no fashion runway shows.. how terrifying.
P.S: Achieve your goals, and even if it gets excessively difficult, don't get frustrated and sit down and organize the next steps. Promise you'll get through it, just keep moving.
